From tradition to sustainable production
The strawberry grape plant is very hardy, grows lush and healthy without requiring excessive phytosanitary treatments and does not need chemical fertilisation.
This means that there are no residual levels of these products, limiting their exposure even to neighbouring crops.
The Piedmont strawberry grape lends itself to sustainable production with minimal use of chemical fertilisers. The product grows while respecting natural resources. When ripe, the strawberry grape of Piedmont reaches the consumer's table healthy and appetising and ready to be enjoyed.
The strawberry grape also expresses its sustainability on a social level, enhancing crops and techniques that have been the tradition of this territory for the last 200 years.
A combination of past and future that sets in motion a positive spiral for all the protagonists of this delicious story.
At present, under the guidance of the Consortium for protection and valorisation is based on a vision and practicality, all the activities will lead to making the territory more and more recognisable.
The development of strawberry grape cultivation contributes to biodiversity, as it fits into the massive cultivations gaining more and more important spaces. In a context where, historically, fruit cultivation has always given much importance to the cultivation of apples, apricots and peaches, and in cereal production the leading role has been given to the cultivation of maize, barley and wheat, strawberry grapes are managing to diversify the biodiversity of the Piedmont region while bringing important benefits to the entire sector.
